The UCDC
was certified as a Community Development Entity (CDE) by the United States
Treasury Department in June 2002. This designation allows us to work with
commercial and retail developers and investors to enhance the quality
of life in our neighborhoods.
This is an exciting new advancement for us. We are the only Community Development Corporation in the Atlanta area to operate as a CDE. Check this site frequently for our current projects.
UCDC is making great strides in supporting a mix of commercial services and resources to our community through strong partnerships with the M. L. King Commercial District and the Atlanta Development Authority. We have assisted in the redevelopment of MLK Commercial District and the creation of the Historic Westside Village. Additionally, we work with neighbors to revitalize Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Joseph Lowery Boulevard corridors.
